Scandinavian Prints with October Guest Mayline

Happy Friday!

Our October Guest Designer, Mayline, is back today sharing a couple of gorgeous cards featuring Scandinavian Prints.  You're going to love how she has combined this set with watercolors to really stretch it!

It’s Mayline again guest designing today for Neat & Tangled. Watercolor is my favorite paint medium. I love the translucent colors and the fluid way they smoothly blend together. Yes! Today I am sharing watercolor floral cards. Here is my first card.

To start off I stamped some of the outline images from Scandinavian Prints stamp set using black ink on A2 sized watercolor paper panel. Then I painted over the image area with watercolor paint using a wet brush. Once the panel was dry, I stamped half shape of leaf outline image around watercolor circles. Next I painted over the image area with green watercolor paint. After that I stamped sentiment from SquareThoughts stamp set using black ink on the panel as you can see in the picture above. Lastly I stamped some small piece outline images around sentiments with black ink.

Here is my second card for today. I used the same technique and same stamp sets.

Which cards do you like? I hope you enjoyed today’s my cards.

Grateful For You with Keeway

Hello friends, it's Keeway! So tell me, how much do you LOVE the October release? My jaws dropped the day I laid eyes on them, and I jumped on coloring them up the day it arrived on my doorsteps. For today, I'm going to be sharing a card that I made with the Into the Woods stamp set, designed by our very talented Elena, and pairing it up with the new Scalloped Dies!

I was so drawn to the gust of leaves that this was actually the first thing I stamped on watercolor paper. I was immediately reminded of that song Colors of the Wind. Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Yes!! Yes, I can and I will!

I painted colors of brown, yellow, orange, red, and green surrounding the leaves I just stamped. Ah, the beautiful colors of fall. And then I painted some brown for the ground for my critters to stand on later.

Next, I stamped my woodsy critters and colored them with copic markers. I then die cut them with coordinating dies, and adhered them to my watercolor background with foam tape.

I wanted to frame the scene, and I did so with the Scalloped Dies. I really adore the large scallop shapes of these dies, and to create my top and bottom edges, I used the largest frame to die cut just one edge of my latte-colored card stock. I also used a white gel pen to add little decorative dots to it. And lastly, I embossed my sentiment from the stamp set in copper in the center bottom. These pieces were adhered to my card with foam tape as well. And that's it!

Thanks for dropping by!
See you next time,

Here for you

Hey there, it's Amy here with a fun card featuring the new Polka - Simply Stencil teamed up with Scandinavian Prints:

The beauty of the latest Simply Stencils, Polka + Scoops,  is that they work on their own and coordinated with the earlier released, Scandinavian Prints.

I inked up the Polkas with Fresh Ink Celery.  The leaves have been stamped out with Fresh Ink Tuscan Olive and the detail work is in Fresh Ink Navy.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white and do you spy a new Lime sequin?  I place a small enamel dot in the middle to make it look like a bloom.

The banner is from the new Scalloped Nice and Neat die.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Box Full of Holiday Happiness with Daria

Hi Dears,

Daria here. For today's project, I've decided to play with  just released Berry Merry stamp set (it is simply adorable) and with all time favorite - Box die. At first, I wanted to fill the box with different ornaments from Happy Ornaments stamp set, but then decided to add all kinds of images.

For me, Holiday happiness is also about decorating the tree and digging into a box full of old ornaments that we have from my grandma and from the times when I was very young...

I started by stamping some images from Beary Merry Stamp Set. I made the simpliest coloring possible with just one color. I think the black and white stamping plus one color gives this card a more modern look. You  may choose any color you like to put some accents. But I really loved the new Lime green Sequins and wanted to use those on my card.

For my sentiment, I used the same stamp set and stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. It is the best ink for sentiments and detailed images.

Here is a video on how fast and simple this card is, hope you can check it out :)

That's finishes up my card for today. Hope you liked it and got into a holiday crafting mood.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

A Beary Merry Christmas with Emily

Did you get a chance to shop the Neat & Tangled release? I'd love to know what you bought or what is on your wish list! All supply links are in Friday's post for reference. I didn't get a chance to feature the Beary Merry stamp set and coordinating dies during release week so I decided I had to use it for today's post!

I die cut three of the bears, as well as three of the mini stuffies (teehee) and watercoloured them all. While they were drying, I used the largest of Scalloped Dies set to create shaped card bases. Then I used the stitched circle die from the Making Waves Dies to dry emboss a circle behind the bears.

I lightly watercoloured the bottom part of the circle for a bit of depth and dimension. When I adhered the stuffies in the bears' hands, I used foam tape to pop up their heads and kept the bottoms flat with glue dots.

These were so fun and quick to make, I have a feeling I'll be making more! When I showed my husband and son, they thought they were so cute. Maybe they'll be making me a holiday card with this set. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please visit my blog for a full supply list.
